PlayStation Phone HACKED! | PS1 Emu Running

Tech savvy readers are well aware of the Sony Ericcson device and it’s been a slow push getting the desirability to market mainly due to lack of content and games that would make it useful.  Some folks have mentioned that having to re-purchase a PS1 title just to play it again on your phone doesn’t seem fair.  Perhaps Sony will come up with an answer to this.  However, what about at present?

Well folks, that’s the answer on at least on a hackers agenda.  Per a report today on PocketGamer, a fellow calling himself Coder yifanlu is working on reverse-engineering the phone’s own emulator (used to play downloaded PS1 games) so that he can make it play custom ISO files. Which for most people will mean the ones ripped from old discs and then seeded all over the internet.

He’s already got it working, showing off an Xperia Play running Crash Bandicoot 3, which isn’t available for download from the phone’s legal marketplace.
