Let’s get to the list: Titanfall | Xbox One, PC | Respawn Entertainment | March 11th, 2014 | $59.99 This first-person shooter gives you and everyone else a massive mech suit. With the title featuring multiplayer exclusively, will it capture audiences on Xbox One? Will the PC audience overtake console players?

Today begins Xbox One’s bid for legitimacy. Their first “killer app” gets released today. Titanfall (*cue fanfare, crowd goes wild, insert showgirls*) Titanfall Cover Art This game is supposed be the big attraction, the performance exhibition, the reason to buy a Xbox One.

The real deal here is that Titanfall Arcade is a new marketing campaign that combines mechs with old games. Image Credit: Electronic Arts Asteroids, Missile Command, and Centipede are all pretty cool games, but they just don’t have enough mechs. Thanks to Titanfall, that is no longer a problem. Over the last few days, Titanfall publisher Electronic Arts has started quite a few similiar tactics in the market, and with good products and media coverage, it always seems to work out really well.

“After a dip in the number different platforms getting new releases last week, we get one for pretty much about every one this week. Starting off on Monday, we have a few PC games, like Frozen Endzone. The real hard hitters start on Tuesday with the much awaited Titanfall and Dark Souls II. For RPG fans, we also have Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky as a PlayStation 3 exclusive on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday are pretty bare right now, but Friday caps the week off well with the much awaited Yoshi’s New Island for the Nintendo 3DS, as well as a game on Steam based on the Powerpuff Girls franchise that looks quite fun.”

In conclusion, unless you were caught up in the console launch hysteria of November, there hasn’t been much of a reason to run out and pick up an Xbox One as soon as possible. Titanfall changes all that like a 20-ton giant robot falling out of the sky. The debut effort from Respawn Entertainment, which pits massive mechs against jetpack-equipped pilots.
