The hype for Rage continues and those that read up on our E3 coverage, this game is kind of a combination of Fallout 3′s kind of FPS engine along with some serious buggy traveling on a desolate terrain and pretty much any other 3rd person action adventure shooter, mishmashed together without any rules (per the dev we talked to earlier this week)…
What makes this concept interesting is with the release video below we learn of the customize-able weapons, mods, and authentic bona-fide artillery and machinery that can be located and equiped make Rage much more ambitious than what was original presented at E3. Regardless if these mods are additional (as the demo was in Alpha at last view), it does stand to reason that with Dishonored on the forefront of everyone’s peaking minds as well as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and let’s not forget Prey 2, that RAGE gives them a cinqenta of titles that for one we can’t wait to play and it looks optimistic that we’ll all have our hands full with Bethesda titles (just what we want right?) later this year and next.
Rage is one of those particular ‘survival’ games (like the Fallout series) with all the extras. We’ve come to understand that the devs set out to top the Fallout series by adding everything under the sun that might have been missed in their previous award winning title.
Adding all the weapons, ammo, machine invention skills, etc, brings the scavenging reality of the beast that is “only the strong survive”. We particularly like the boomerang blade, how it’s utilized, and what fun it looks to play with it. You also have the option of turrets, and little remote control mini vehicle bombs. Check out the video below, it’s pretty awesome!
Rage is scheduled for release September 13, 2011… look for it, we’ll be there to help ya!
